On February 15th, 2020, shortly before the world would shut down, Amanda and Ross rolled out of their perspective beds, dressed in ceil blue, and went to work. Amanda was in charge of the NICU, ready for a Saturday filled with babies & nurses. Ross went to CV and found out he'd be floating for the first time. Floating to the NICU. After inquiring about what the NICU float would be like ("No ones going to help you", "You better hope you have a good assignment, you'll be tripled for sure"). One person said "You'll be fine, you have Amanda." Not knowing what that even meant, Ross went up to the 4th floor, walked through pod 2, and was greeted with a big smile and a "Hey boo." These were the first words Amanda said to Ross and started their first 12 hours together. During these twelve hours, Amanda and Ross talked about anime, her dog Louisse, NICU things, fitness things and many others. Seeing as it was the day after Valentines Day, Amanda had brought chocolate covered strawberries for the nurses, which she also shared with Ross. Unbeknownst to each other, Amanda and Ross were each inquiring with their friends to see if anyone knew anything about the other. Aside from gathering they were both kind people, they didn't get too much information yet. Their twelve hour shift concluded with Ross walking past numerous nurses to ask Amanda to come witness his patient's milrinone drip in room 4017. Amanda gladly put down her staffing grid to go witness the float nurse's drip. Maybe partially to ensure the drip was hung correctly but also to spend a little bit more time with Ross before they'd inevitably part ways. After witnessing the drip, Ross confessed he had no hot date scheduled for that night to which Amanda responded, "Well if you don’t have a hot date and I don’t have a hot date, maybe we should have a hot date together." Ross replied, "As much as I'd love to, I have fitness things to do." Unaware why anyone would want to do fitness things after work, Amanda said, "Fitness things? Or fittin'is pizza in your mouth?!" Should she have said it? Most people would disagree. Turns out, this type of humor spoke to Ross' soul. The shift ended. Ross did not ask for Amanda's number. And that was that..... ......Until one month later Ross was in the cafeteria when he heard Amanda (allegedly) speaking loudly about french fries. He decided to wait for her by the cash register. Amanda was delighted to see the cute CV float from whom she never heard anything from after their lovely Saturday shift. They walked together back to the tower, which, unfortunately, was not a very long walk. Amanda asked Ross about his fitness event he had so dutifully prepared for, which Ross said something along the lines of if she had messaged him, she would know. Amanda pointed out that he had never asked for her number so how was she supposed to do so. Ross finally asked Amanda for her number and the rest led us to a moment in their kitchen, making nachos for taco Tuesday with a barking dog, where Ross hugged Amanda and said "Marry me."
