How We Met

The "Bottle Of Wine" Song

Amanda's Story: We met as freshmen in high school. One day, we had to work on a group project so Robert brought his guitar and serenaded me with two songs: "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry and "If You Could Only See" by Tonic. I was impressed. Still am. Always will be. Robert's Story: We met as freshmen in high school because we both had the same free period. I asked Amanda for her "AIM" (that's AOL Instant Messenger for those too old or too young to know). Her AIM username was "xfancypenguinx" - I still remember. Mine was "BottleOfWineSong" after the song "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry. We chatted on AIM until the early morn, and then spent all our free periods together playing cards. And we've been best friends ever since.

The Proposal

Do Go Chasing Waterfalls

We both love hiking, especially visiting every waterfall we can find (which is a fun challenge in Southern California). We booked a weekend stay at a lodge in King's Canyon National Park. Before we left to drive back home, we hiked to a waterfall called Tokopah Falls, in Sequoia National Park. We climbed down some rocks to the pools at the base of the waterfall, I got down on one knee and Amanda said YES! Here's to chasing all the waterfalls together :)
