Question

What's an adults only all-inclusive resort?

Answer

All food and drinks are included in the price of your stay. Yes, you read that right... all the snacks, drinks and alcohol your heart desires. This includes room service as well. It also includes nightly entertainment, games, and beach activities. For an additional cost the resort has a spa, excursions (deep sea fishing, scuba diving,, snorkeling, jungle trips, ziplining) Excellence El Carmen is an adults only resort, so leave the little ones at home and enjoy a beach vacation with no worries

Question

Is there a dress code at the resort?

Answer

Most dinner restaurants require closed toe shoes for men, dressy casual shorts with a nice shirt. Think golf pants or shorts, collard or polo shirt... yes, Hey Dudes are accepted ;) One restaurant does require long pants for men (it’s the club level restaurant called magna) For women- dresses, nice rompers and dress shorts work best. Outside of dinner, there is no dress code, besides needing a cover up over your swim suit for lunch restaurants

Question

What to pack

Answer

-Lots of Sunscreen and bug spray are a must! The resort sells these items, but they will be super expensive, so bring what you can -*Highly Recommend* tums, Imodium AD, pepto bismol (these are all precautionary, but good to have just in case) -Extra money for tipping. Think $1 for drinks, $5 for meals.

Question

Preventative measures

Answer

It's always recommended to start taking probiotics two weeks before your trip, during your stay and two weeks after. This can help prevent travel-related gastrointestinal issues. The water at the resort is filtered. If you’re concerned, when brushing your teeth at the resort rinse with a water bottle, not the faucet. When showering, don't let the water get into your mouth. The resort filters the water for the ice and in the restaurants, but always get bottled water when available, especially if you leave the resort. be mindful- don't eat any food that's been sitting out for awhile or hasn't been properly stored at the right temp.

Question

Tipping policies

Answer

Guests are not required to tip, however, it will make the service you receive so much better. I recommend bringing $100- $150 per guest. You don't have to tip for every single drink. You can do a few bucks for a group order, a few bucks if you get room service, $5-$10 for a meal (per table, not per person)
