We are going to try to get things started around 3:00 pm. Feel free to arrive approximately 15-30 minutes or so before 3:00 pm, if you'd like.
Simple, there really isn't one! With the ceremony being held outside, weather permitting, dress accordingly. We want everyone to be comfortable, while still understanding that this is our special day and a wedding. If we had to give a suggestion or put a title to it, go with business/evening/cocktail attire. Just be comfy!!
At the ceremony gazebo location, there is parking in the gravel, both above and below the venue. The road wraps around in an almost-circle, with the gazebo nearly in the center. There is parking all around. There are a few large gravel areas off to the right of the gazebo that will be saved for family/friends who may have special needs or trouble walking long distances. Please be respectful of this and allow them to be as close as they can be. Parking at the Bathhouse Building is plentiful, with a few designated handicapped spots. You will pull up into a large gravel lot...large enough for everyone!
To be determined with further and future planning...
Assigned seats are not our style...pick anywhere that will make you smile!!! At both the ceremony and the reception, there will NOT be assigned seats. Please sit where you are comfortable, while being respectful of others and their space as well.
Please, for the sake of space, we are asking only those to come, who the invitation was addressed to. No plus ones please. We adore everyone's children, but again for the sake of space, we are only allowing family's children to attend. There will, however, be a small table or area with a few kids items on them to help keep them occupied throughout the evening.
Unfortunately, weather is simply unpredictable! We hope and wish to have the most beautiful weather for our big day...doesn't everyone? However, it doesn't always work out that way. In the event of unfavorable weather, please be patient with us and expect potential delays. Should things not go as planned, we will rearrange the seating in the Bathhouse Building (where the reception will be) and we will continue our special day indoors and out of the elements. We are hoping for mild, cool and clear fall-like weather. Fingers crossed for some color change to the leaves!
We ask, during our ceremony, that you be present and in the moment with us. Keep your phones silenced out of respect and do your best to keep them put away. Beyond that, take as many photos as you wish!!! We ask a few simple things... 1. Use our wedding hashtag and tag us in photos you all take, so that we can see them as well. The hashtag will be displayed at the reception. #WishUponAMorningstar 2. There will be a card at every table at the reception with a QR code on it. Please utilize this when taking/sharing photos with us as well. It will automatically go on an online album for us. This is a fun way to get other folk's perspectives throughout the evening and an efficient way for us to gather as many photos as possible. It would be GREATLY appreciated! 3. Please allow space and patience for our two photographers, as they will always be trying to achieve the very best angles and vantage points.
NO! As mentioned previously, we appreciate everyone respecting our wish to have a dry reception with NO alcohol. This was NOT a tough decision for us to make for a multitude of personal/family reasons. Respectfully, there will be ZERO tolerance or acceptance of anyone who chooses or tries to attend our special day either intoxicated or bringing outside alcohol to our venue(s). You will be politely asked to leave. We want to spend and share our special day with you in the very best and safest way possible, for all. NO exceptions, please don't ask!
Dinner will be catered by Cacapon State Park Resort's dining staff. It will be served buffet style. Dinner selections are as follows: Baked sliced ham, chicken cordon bleu, roast beef with au jus, roasted rosemary potatoes, glazed baby carrots, macaroni and cheese, salad, warm rolls, iced tea, water, coffee and a few chef's choice desserts. We went to a food tasting and were pretty impressed. We hope you are as well! We have already informed staff of KNOWN allergies. If anyone else has specific concerns, feel free to reach out to us.
Well, we chose yet again, another non-traditional option for our big day! Neither of us are huge fans of cake. We do, however, both LOVE ice cream! It's fitting to us and something almost everyone can enjoy. Join us at the Sweet Treats table for some ice cream...with toppings bar! Dinner will also include a selection of chef's choice desserts. A huge shout out and thank you to Amanda's best friend, Katie, who plans to make an additional selection of bite-sized treats to enjoy!
We have a link listed on our website for our honeymoon fund. There will also be a card basket and a honeymoon fund box at the reception. There is ZERO obligation to contribute. However, if you do, know that it is incredibly helpful and appreciated always!
I don't believe we currently have anyone who is traveling from very far away. However, if someone is needing any help or assistance making travel accommodations, please don't hesitate to reach out to either Matthew or Amanda.
If you've never been before, our wedding will be held at Cacapon State Park in Berkeley Springs, WV....and it's beautiful! We would highly suggest and encourage you, your families, and friends come back to the park in the future, aside from our wedding. There is a TON to do! There are multiple lodging options including a resort with a golf course, restaurant and spa. There are also camp sites and cabins. There are many picnic areas, pavilions, grills, sport areas, streams, hiking paths, a man-made waterfall, 2 lakes (with a multitude of activities and beach area), horseback riding, shooting range, fishing, a nature center and so much more! A 6,000+ acre park, laying in a scenic mountain range. It's a beautiful place to make a day or even a weekend trip out of! We hope you enjoy its beauty and all it has to offer, as much as we do!!!
