Wedding Party

Elizabeth Steuer (Liz)

Matron of Honor

Liz and Mandie probably met as toddlers in the halls of Second Pres. but ultimately became best friends at North Central High School where they shared classes and friends and were both in Descants, the all-female show choir. Many weekends spent traveling to other high schools in the area wearing sparkly outfits, tight curls and fake eyelashes will bond you to someone for life. Despite the post-high school distance, Mandie and Liz remain close. It's one of those sweet friendships that always picks right back up where you leave it.

Augusta Viccellio

Maid of Honor

Augusta and Mandie lived in the same dorm freshman year at Indiana University, they then joined the same sorority. After college, Augusta went for an au-pair year in Paris. Mandie and Allie (the officiant) went to visit and while standing on the balcony of the Eiffel Tower, Mandie made the decision to move to Paris "for a year." Augusta and Mandie have since traveled to several countries together and are forever united in their love of Taylor Swift, cats, ABBA and all things sparkly.

Nicole Jarrett

Bridesmaid

Nicole and Mandie met at Indiana University where eventually they were roommates in their sorority. They also lived together senior year of college in the beloved (and disgusting) Big Nasty at 3rd and Grant. After school, Nicole moved to Indianapolis where Mandie forced her to hang out most weekends. Nicole has impressive DJ skills, from Night Moves and Slow Jamz to Like a G6, they will be best friends, laughing together and at each other, forever.

Emma Linsenmayer

Bridesmaid

Emma and Mandie met on a strange day trip to the Château de Chantilly when they both were au pairs in Paris and the two were fast friends. Despite never having money, Emma and Mandie often found themselves drinking 7€ iced coffees and wine along the Seine with their friend Sara. Emma and her husband François are the godparents to Simon, Mandie and Martyn's toothless ginger street cat and Mandie forces them to hang out as often as possible.

Allie Stroh

Officiant

Allie and Mandie met in the sorority at Indiana University and hung out after college at River Crossing where Allie lived with Nicole. One day in 2012, Allie texted the group chat asking if anyone wanted to visit Augusta in Paris. Mandie immediately said yes and the week they spent in Augusta's apartment listening to Call Me Maybe on repeat and getting lost in the streets of Montmartre will forever be one of the best of Mandie's life and a large part of the reason Mandie decided to move to Paris. Without Allie, there would likely be no Mandie and Martyn. We are eternally grateful to her.

Andy Smith (Carps)

Officiant

Martyn met Andy on the footballing battlefields of Stade Pershing, before the days of ‘Carps’ and his transformation into the French capital’s leading late-night musician. A social butterfly, Dakar Rally enthusiast and the most French of Englishmen who doesn't go anywhere without his copy of L'Equipe, André Forgeron is one of a kind.

Luc Tucker

Best Man

Luc and Martyn met playing football in Paris in 2011. At first Martyn thought Luc was an unassuming Frenchman who had just stumbled his way onto the pitch. How wrong he was. Many hours were spent at the Great Canadian pub before graduating to more refined venues such as Rosa Bonheur, Luc shedding many a jacket, often green, to be lost to the Paris bar scene for eternity. Luc now lives in DC, where he is the master of coin.

Bobby Bendekovits

Best Man

Bobby and Martyn met in Madrid while studying. They both later ended up in Paris working for Eurosport, Martyn at first spending many a night on Bobby’s sofa before they eventually moved into the rue Cardinet penthouse. After three years of luxury accommodation, Bobby returned to his native Austria in search of a more suitable mattress but they have stayed in touch through semi-regular phone calls with Luc.

Joe Woodward (Woody)

Groomsman

Joe and Martyn met during high school in Geneva, bonding over a passion for football. Joe has not stopped talking about Paulo Wanchope’s 1997 goal at Old Trafford ever since. Both went to university in/around Brighton, inflicting a sustained bombardment on its finest nightclubs. Weekend 5-aside games were followed by the obligatory patio BBQ. Joe now lives in NYC, spreading the good word about Bud Light.

Joe Timms (Timmsy)

Groomsman

Joe and Martyn met at university in Brighton. One summer they spent several hours on the tennis court building a rivalry that would inevitably spill over to the bowling alley. Ski trips and days out to the cricket bring out Joe’s unrivalled sandwich-making skills, just maybe pass if he offers to make you gnocchi.
