Kids are welcome to attend all events other than the actual wedding and events on November 9th. Mount Juliet Estate is child friendly and offers a babysitting service that can be coordinated for the afternoon and evening of the wedding day. Kindly reach out before you arrive in order to book at ays@mountjuliet.ie. We can also put families with children in touch for group babysitting if there's interest!
No tuxedoes expected! Regular suits are fine and yes, you're welcome to wear a kilt if you really want to. Longer dresses/jumpsuits/or suits for women. Bridesmaids will be in shades of green if you'd like to avoid matching.
We are offering a room block at Mount Juliet Estate where the wedding itself and the day after barbecue will be (not to mention tons of activities on "campus"). The hotel is offering a discounted rate for our room block and a 10% discount code off the standard rate if the rooms in our block are sold out when you reserve. We also have a block at Hotel Kilkenny in Kilkenny proper, a 20 minute ride from Mount Juliet. Refer to our travel page for more details. We're always available to answer any lodging questions you have!
Transportation between the Manor House and Hunter’s Yard will be provided for wedding events as will transportation between Hotel Kilkenny and Mount Juliet for those staying in town. Additional transportation will be provided to and from Mount Juliet for our Pub Welcome evening. For airport transport, please indicate whether you require it in your RSVP.
Ireland in November is typically chilly (but not freezing), breezy, and sometimes rainy so be sure to bring warm layers, a coat, and something waterproof (and ideally windproof)! Boots or warm footwear are also a good idea if you’re planning to be out exploring the property or walking around Kilkenny. An umbrella also can’t hurt. If you're a golfer, a hiker, or an equestrian, bring your gear! For the day of the wedding, all events will be indoors at Mount Juliet and transportation will be provided between Hunter's Yard and the Manor House (and between Kilkenny hotels and Mount Juliet). No need to worry about weather when you're all dressed up though it's a short walk between Hunter's Yard and the Manor House if you'd prefer to go on foot.
Yes, let us know!
Your gift to us is coming to Ireland to celebrate! You can find our registry at Zola and on the Registry tab of this site should you wish to contribute but this is truly not necessary!
Yes! The easiest way to do this would be by car. We love Cork, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, and the west coast of Ireland (especially the Cliffs of Moher where we got engaged)! Feel free to reach out to us for hotel/restaurant/pub recommendations in any of these locations if you’re interested. We'd love to share more!
