We’re tying the knot!

Little did I know that back in April of 2019, my long weekend visit to Florida would turn into me moving back down… for a guy I had just met. The moment I walked into Lacy’s life my sassiness caught his eye. With my first words to him being “Honestly I don’t want to f*cking hear it” he knew I was the one - and now knowing his amazing momma I can see why he liked my attitude! Our first date occurred on April 27th, 2019. He had planned to pick me up from Pineapple Park and drive us to Jensen Beach. We relaxed and got to know each other a bit under the sun while looking out over the ocean. Later when he dropped me off, my glasses happened to fall in Lacy’s reach. He grabbed them and said to me “I’ll give them back if you give me a kiss”, and that’s exactly how our first kiss happened. On May 9th, a little over a week after I had gotten back from my visit, I left my family in Virginia and got into my little VW Jetta and drove back down to Florida with most of my belongings. We happened to hit a few bumps in the road of course, as all relationships do, and he didn’t officially get around to asking me to be his girlfriend until the night of October 9th, 2019. Flash forward to the beginning of 2021, we found out we were pregnant but unfortunately went through a miscarriage soon after. This tragedy brought us closer as a couple though. Even on the toughest days we stuck together and fought for each other, It was a rough couple of months for us. Then the middle of May came around and we found out our rainbow after the storm had finally appeared! We were expecting our now healthy and happy baby boy. We planned a baby shower to celebrate our perfect Lacy Junior for November 7th, 2021. Lacy however, had also been planning with my mom since the beginning of September to propose to me that same day… I had no idea. The day of the shower arrives and I had opened all but one gift. Everyone got extremely quiet as this last gift was handed to me. I noticed more phones come out for pictures/ videos, and remember thinking in my head ‘somethings about to happen’. I began to read the card Lacy had written for me from LJ. I then open the box and inside I find a little onesie that reads “Will you marry my daddy”. I couldnt help but to burst into tears immediately and turn to see him on one knee with my Grandmother’s engagement ring from my Grandfather. I had no breath for words, all I could do was just shake my head YES!!! Now, here we are after all the engagement and baby excitement finally planning our special day. We couldn’t imagine celebrating not only our wedding, but our 3 year anniversary together with all of our closest family, friends, and loved ones!
