Our first date was at Bings in Dennis Port on June 19, 2019. We stayed in the restaurant talking so long that the staff alerted us they were closing. We didn’t want our first date to end, so we took the conversation down to West Dennis Beach. Our 2nd date was a couple weeks later at The Cleat & Anchor. Again, we did not want our night to end and after that date, we both knew we needed to be in each other's lives. July 2020- We went to P-Town to celebrate 1 year together. It was a beautiful, amazing, and fun weekend. We went to most of the shops on Commercial Street. While looking in one small jewelry store, we see a beautiful vintage engagement ring. The salesman asks Krista if she would like to try it on. Krista did and immediately loved it, but knew the time was not right yet. Amanda had other plans… ;) After the weekend, Amanda called the jewelry store in P-Town and put that ring on hold. A short time later, we had gone back to the store and Krista was curious if the ring was still there. Sadly, the owner said it was gone and Krista was crushed. Life went on and the ring would come up over the next 2 years, saying how beautiful it was, but since it’s gone, it just wasn’t meant to be. Fast forward to July 24, 2022- We are celebrating our 3 year anniversary on 7/25, so Amanda planned a beautiful secret getaway for Krista. She planned to take Krista to Under Acadia (a glamping experience) and visit Acadia National Park in Maine. During a beautiful walk around Thunder Hole, Amanda decided it was time to pop the question! Krista was absolutely shocked to find out that Amanda had bought that ring 2 YEARS AGO! The same ring they found together on their 1-year anniversary trip was now right in front of Krista. She said YES! Amanda had set up professional photographers to capture the moments, and it was perfect! (See the proposal video on the main page) August 21, 2022- Krista already had some proposal plans up her sleeve, too. In June, Krista and Libby (MOH) took the 6 hour drive to Maine to ask Amanda’s parents for their blessing and to get a very special ring. Amanda’s mom, Nikki, saved their grandmother’s engagement ring from their 50+ year marriage. Amanda hadn’t seen her grandmother’s ring in a few years, so it was quite a surprise when it was on her finger. Krista planned a beach proposal with a picnic at Harbor View Beach in Dennis. Even though we were technically already engaged, it was important that each of us asked one another. (Pictures from this day are in the gallery section)
