Kingston is 8 miles away from Port Gamble. There are lots of rentals and a couple of hotels. Bonus: it's right next to the ferry! Poulsbo is about 15 minutes away from Port Gamble. There are several hotels there - The Fairfield Inn & Suites Poulsbo (use the special rate A2672 for a discount!) There is also Poulsbo Inn & Suites. Port Ludlow is a 20 minute drive from Port Gamble. There's a beautiful resort and golf course as well as other rentals available. Port Townsend is a cute little Victorian town about 40 minutes away from Port Gamble. Perfect for a long weekend getaway! Sequim is great if you want to have a more adventurous weekend on the Olympic Peninsula. It is about 45 minutes away from Port Gamble and there are plenty of hotels and rentals.
