Angel Oak Park
Roughly 20 minutes from downtown Charleston, you can head over to Johns Island and check out the Angel Oak Tree native to the land for the last 100 years.

Fort Sumter National Monument
Nearly always visible on the horizon in the city, catch a ferry to the historic Fort Sumter and learn about Charleston's complicated but critical history in the growth of the nation. P.S. if you time it right, you may run into our favorite park ranger Summer!
Beaches (Folly, Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms)
There are 3 main beaches in the Charleston area! Folly Beach is the closest to the wedding venue but there is also Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms in Mt. Pleasant as well for those in town that don't mind a bit more of a drive!
Charleston City Market
Check out the local goods and crafts at the lively city market! Second longest-running public market in the nation (darn Baltimore).
Gardens
There are plenty of Gardens and Parks across the area. Some of our favorites are Pitt Street Bridge Park, Hampton Park, Middleton Place, Boone Hall Plantation, Cyprus Gardens, and Magnolia Gardens.
Aquarium and Museums
If you have time, be sure to check out the variety of unique museums across downtown Charleston. From the new International African American Museum to the Sea Turtle Rescue at the South Carolina Aquarium, the city has a wide variety of engaging exhibits for anyone!
