We met at Clexacon in Las Vegas, Nevada in April 2018. During a "speed-friending" event, an event that allows attendees to get to meet other people, Amanda turned to say hi to the girl next to her, Jacy. She was smitten by Jacy's charisma and beautiful smile. Jacy loved Amanda's shirt. We quickly became comfortable with one another and met the next day with other friends we had met at the conference. Including, our now roommate and Jacy's childhood friend, Parker. It was on Jacy's birthday the next day things became official. It was fast but felt right. We were all in on a long distance relationship within hours of knowing each other and luck has been on our side ever since.
On a trip to Massachusetts to visit Amanda's friends and family, we stopped at the beautiful Lyman Estate Gardens in Waltham. To Amanda, this was a way to kill time before they met Amanda's friends for lunch. We walked around the gardens, enjoying the greenhouse and chatting with a worker. As we were about to leave, Jacy stopped and pulled out a letter she had "forgotten" to give Amanda before. In a hand-written letter all about our love and the future was every emotion Jacy felt. We hugged and Jacy was clinking something behind Amanda, only to reveal a intricate heart-shaped box with the perfect ring inside. Amanda yelled, "what are you doing?!" before Jacy asked "will you marry me?" with tears in her eyes and Amanda said "yes" immediately. They kissed and Amanda proceeded to start laughing hysterically. The moment was quickly interrupted by the gardener they had spoken to earlier who had to water the plants nearby at that exact moment. We left abruptly and Amanda felt like a volcano of happiness had erupted and Jacy was relieved and confused by all the laughter. It was perfect.
