Mandi met Greg while each was enjoying a morning coffee at a hotel in Cap Haitian, Haiti in 2015. She was in town for work, while Greg was accompanying his father on his first trip there. Mandi immediately caught their attention as she sipped her coffee across the room; after introductions, Mandi learned that Greg had no plans for that evening, which happened to be Cinco de Mayo. Although he had plenty of friends in Cap, Greg led Mandi to believe that he knew no one in town and needed company. During dinner with friends, they discovered many mutual acquaintances in their shared home city of Port-Au-Prince and were surprised that they hadn’t met previously. They made plans to meet again once they were home. Greg knew immediately that he had found someone special, but he had to wait patiently for Mandi to come around to the same realization as she was looking for more than just his good looks and charm. A big first step was Mandi getting to meet Greg’s warm and welcoming family, who immediately embraced her. Greg showed his devotion by supporting Mandi in her career and consistently making her a priority in his life. She was impressed by his growing commitment and the way he was willing to make big changes in his life for her. She found herself increasingly won over by his loyalty and love towards the important people in his life. In January of 2018, their complimentary personalities were embodied in a beautiful tiny being: Mila. And when Sophie arrived in March the following year they saw other sides of themselves reflected again in another beautiful little girl. While the two sisters are already very different, their blooming affection for each other is obvious, and what began as Mandi and Greg’s story has grown into a beautiful little family.
