We met through mutual friends and began to see each other within that circle. One night (May 2021), two of our closest friends invited us separately to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (which would become a very integral part of our story). We (Frank) doesn't remember the friends being there, as he was fairly wrapped up in conversation and laughter with Amanda :). Later, Frank emailed Amanda and began testing the waters in terms of interest.....he was "delayed, but not denied" when she made it clear she was NOT interested. So, we went back to our routine of seeing each other very once in awhile through our mutual friends. In August, at a party for a friend who had graduated from Nursing School, Frank's son Joseph and Amanda thoroughly roasted Frank and his dating foibles. It was a true roasting and quite funny - even Frank had to laugh. After the party, Joseph told Frank "You should date Amanda! She's hella funny and cool!". Frank quickly replied, "I tried, but was denied." Joseph said, "Oh, you shot your shot and missed!" LOL. However, at the party, Amanda realized that maybe she WAS interested after all. She was secretly excited that Frank asked her about the church she attended and that maybe he would attend someday. In November of 2021, events would lead us back to Texas Roadhouse, this time alone. Laughing together over a difficult life event and some side-splitting readings of texts messages, there was no denying there were sparks. Amanda attended Hamilton shortly thereafter and messaged Frank about how amazing it was. Frank seized on this opening and said how much he wanted to see it and that he would like to go, but wondered if Amanda might accompany him. Our first date was set, November 23, 2021 at Hamilton in Tucson. We've been inseparable since, and truly in love. In each other, we feel we have found our equal and true life partner. What more could anyone ask for....except that you all could have been attending an April wedding instead of October, but maybe the six month wait was necessary....perhaps ;)
