Its your normal typical love story. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. A global pandemic. We met on a dating app and our instant connection was like many couples...our love for the 1995 film "A Goofy Movie". After a few back and forth messages we finally met. The pandemic was difficult for some couples being stuck inside together but for us we were able to get to know each other and make our relationship strong and after many movies, games and Disney trips later we decided to become domesticated partners aka husband and wife. To quote the great 1995 film A Goofy Movie that brought us together "If we listen to each other's heart. We'll find we're never too far apart. (Oh Yeah) and maybe love is the reason why (Oh Yeah) for the first time ever we're seeing it eye to eye."

"Host Phil Keoghan says this at the beginning of every season of Amazing Race and this may surprise everybody but Amanda loves reality television and she loves Amazing Race! One morning Derek surprised Amanda with an Amazing Race envelope letting her know they were on a mini midwest version of the hit CBS show. Their 3 day adventure went all over the midwest from visiting the biggest Bass Pro Shop, finding names in a cemetery in Missouri to roller-skating in Arkansas. It was the perfect engagement story...until Derek's car broke down. The goal for Derek was to propose at sunset in Arkansas as that was the first time they said the infamous 'Love' word. It didn't quite work out and they showed up to the final destination at dark and ended up not winning the Amazing Race :( however that's where he got down on a knee and popped the question as she is worth more then the winning prize of a million dollars and he ended up being the biggest winner of all!
