Shuttle bus service between Siena and the venue will be provided for the pizza party. Pickup and drop-off will be at Porta San Marco, a 2-minute walk from Hotel Athena. The shuttle will depart Porta San Marco at 6:20 PM for Villa La Selva, with return service departing Villa La Selva at 10:00 PM. If you anticipate using the shuttle, we would appreciate an early RSVP so we can plan accordingly and ensure seating for everyone.

The Grand Hotel Continental is Siena’s only five-star hotel, set within a stunning 17th-century palazzo in the heart of the historic center and just steps away from Piazza del Campo, Siena’s main square. Please note, that we are not offering a wedding day shuttle stop at this hotel. However, it’s only about a 10-minute walk to Hotel Athena, where the shuttle to Villa La Selva will depart. This property is on the higher end, but perfect if you’d like to treat yourself to a truly elegant stay in Siena. We recommend booking sooner rather than later to secure the lowest rate as June is a busy time in Siena.
Travel Note
Siena is easily reached from Florence by car, bus, or train. Car: About 1 hour from Florence. Guests staying at Hotel Athena have free parking. Bus: From Florence (Scandicci, Villa Costanza) to Siena (Stazione FS, Piazzale Carlo Rosselli) — 1 hour, $18. Train: From Florence (Santa Maria Novella) to Siena — some direct, some with transfer via Empoli, 1.5–2 hours, $13.
Rental Car
Renting a car offers you the freedom to explore Tuscany. Please note an International Driver License is required (See FAQs). Ride-share services like Uber / Lyft aren’t available in the countryside.
Train
Omio is similar to Booking.com but for transportation. You can book tickets for either of Italy's two passenger trains (Italo or TrenItalia). Milan (Malpensa Airport) isn’t connected to Italy’s high-speed rail network, but it does have a train station from which you can get into Milan's city center and then continue on towards Florence.
