Best Man
In Sept. 2001, two awkward 12/13 year olds shared a mutual disdain for forced participation. Forced into a bonding and introductory social setting by our new school, we were tasked with introducing two new friends to our parents and then introducing the parents to each other, Steve and I excelled at being introverted and self-conscious. Tucked away in the corner chatting nonsense to each other, and complaining about the situation we were thrown into, we decided to give in to the system, and to just introduce our parents to each other. Both of our parents, left alone in the hall full of students and parents all getting to know each other, naturally found each other before we did and were already chatting. Since then, we spread our awkwardness far and wide, for the world's viewing pleasure.
Maid of Honor
In 2010, I was searching for a roommate, hoping to find a likeminded person who would appreciate my little vegetable garden, sceam-sing Four Non-Blonds with me at any given opportunity, and love to eat all the foods. On a rainy day in May, after meeting with 7 other people and thinking I'd found a decent match, I agreed to meet one last applicant. During our initial chat I remember feeling as if she was already a friend. We made so many fun memories in that old house! Jamie and I have never taken our friendship for granted, always acknowledging and celebrating our connection. We marked each of our four years together with a rockin' Roommateiversary party. Soon I'll say 'I do' to to my current roommate. I'll be so happy to have my other life partner standing up there with me.
