After asking Amanda's dad for his blessing, Dan planned a surprise engagement. He set the ground work early by telling Amanda they were going to go to a dinner and a Christmas play. After dinner they walked through the Willard Hotel to check out the Christmas tree when Dan grabbed Amanda's hand and got down on one knee! A hidden photographer popped out of the crowd and the entire proposal was caught on camera! From there they walked to The Smith where the surprise and celebration continued with all of their family and friends. Spoiler: There was no Christmas play.
