Amanda and Cody first met in 2001, when they both started kindergarten at Laurel Plains Elementary School. At just five years old, they couldn’t have known that the moments they shared as classmates would lay the foundation for a love story that would only grow stronger over time. Amanda and Cody remained friendly throughout elementary school and continued to cross paths in middle and high school. They shared mutual friends and often found themselves in the same circles. The two had always quietly admired one another but both never really thought much of it beyond that for several years. Upon graduating from Clarkstown South High School in 2014, their friend groups started to intertwine. They started spending much more time together and it wasn’t long before they became close friends. For a few years, Amanda started to suspect Cody may have a crush on her. However, it was not until late 2020 that she started to feel the same way. Though they both felt a shift in their friendship, nothing concrete happened—until 2021. Amanda finally found the courage to tell Cody how she felt. To her surprise, Cody had been waiting for this moment, and he had felt the same way for a “very long time.” From that moment on, everything clicked into place. What began as a friendship built on shared experiences and mutual respect had evolved into a love neither of them had anticipated but were both ready to embrace. Then, on November 16th, 2024, Cody planned what Amanda thought was just a fun day in New York City. But Cody had something far more special in mind. They visited Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, where Cody got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. Now, as they look ahead to the future, Amanda and Cody are excited for this next stage of their journey together. Their love has been built on years of friendship, laughter, and a deep connection that has only grown stronger with time. They are so excited to begin this new chapter of their lives as husband and wife, and are thrilled to share this special day with all of you.
