I walked in to Wooden Wheels bike shop looking for just a triathlon bike and came out two hours later with a crush. I wrote his name, Chris, on a piece of paper right away so I wouldn't forget it because I had a feeling I'd be needing it again. Told my sister and my friend how cute he was and that I needed to find a way to go back to see him. About a month passed and triathlon season was fast approaching and I realized I needed a tune on my bike. Everywhere I called had too long of a wait. I saw this as my opportunity to reach out to Chris I called Wooden Wheels to see if they could get me in sooner and luck would have it that Chris answered! Without any hesitation he told me I could bring my bike in whenever I was able to for the tune up. One week later I brought my bike into the shop. Chris did my tune up, a bike fit, and showed me a few other things I could use for my bike. He asked me to lunch but I completely missed the cue and told him I already ate. Then, he asked if I wanted a coffee and this time I picked up on it and we went to Starbucks for a coffee. He sold me new tires which "required" him putting my information into the system. Shortly after leaving the shop, I received a text message from Chris in regards to the bike I was looking for which then quickly led into us planning an official date. We went on our first date to Iron Hill on the riverfront about two weeks later. After we closed the restaurant down, we went outside and talked more until the lights went out in the parking lot. That's when I knew he was the one!
When a coworker came to me with a cute, athletic runner type next to him and told her " I don't know much about tri bikes but this guy does" and handed Amanda off to me I was pretty excited. Needless to say I spent some time with her in the bike shop and got to know a little about her, I definitely wanted to know more after she left that day. Luckily she called back a couple weeks later asking for a tune up and even though we were weeks backed up I took her right in. She came back and dropped her bike off and I asked to put her name in the system, you know for bike repair reasons, haha. I text her some information about another shop over in Jersey to give her a heads up they had some actual tri bikes in stock (and so that she'd have my number) just in case she wanted to text me back, you know for bike repair reasons, haha. She text me back being a smarty pants and said "that information would of been so hard to find on my own" lol from then on we haven't stopped texting. Eventually we set up a first date on the riverfront at Iron Hill, well originally it was Big Fish but Amanda was running late, as I soon learned is her MO, and Big Fish was closing so I moved it to Iron Hill. The kitchen was closing so I took the liberty of ordering her dinner for her and thankfully she liked what I picked, we closed the place down and spent a few hours talking in the parking lot listening to whatever random music strangely was still playing in the parking lot. Its been 5 years and I still love this girl to the moon and back, even if its on her schedule ;-P
