Chris and Amanda met while working at American Express. For those of you that know Chris, you know he is a bit of a workaholic and can often be found working late into the evenings. As luck would have it, Amanda would also work late as she attended class at WP Carey in the mornings. Most evenings, Chris and Amanda were the only ones in the office and Chris took this opportunity to get to know Amanda better. Every night, before Chris would go home he would stop by and talk to Amanda. Sometimes their conversations were short, but most of the time, they would talk for hours. The two hit it off and the rest is history!

Chris and Amanda had a trip to Europe planned for June 2018 and Chris knew this was the perfect opportunity to propose. He began planning long before the trip and, with the help of his friend Tamsyn Cilliers, scoured the valley and found the perfect ring. A week before the trip, everything seemed good to go until he was informed the store had lost the diamond. Again, with Tamsyn’s help, Chris was on the hunt for the perfect ring...this time, he only had a week!! His persistence paid off and he was able to get an even better ring just in time for the trip! So off they went on their grand European adventure! Amanda suspected that Chris might propose on the trip. But when it didn’t happen at a romantic dinner at the top of the Shard (the tallest building in London) or at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or any of the many cliche places on their trip, she figured it wasn’t going to happen. Little did she know that Chris had picked an even better spot!   On June 3rd, 2018, while at Monet's garden in Giverny, Chris scouted out the ideal spot. He came upon a landing overlooking the lilypond so famously sketched in many of Monet’s paintings, and knew this is where he wanted to propose. Chris’ Aunt and Uncle (Rick and Alaine Mussett) were with them on the cruise around France, so thankfully they were there to capture the moment when Chris got down on one knee and successfully surprised Amanda with a proposal!
