The Wedding Website of Amanda Blacketer and Chris Colucci
Key West is the southernmost island in the Florida Keys, as well as the southernmost point in the continental United States located 159 miles southwest of Miami. The Overseas Highway or U.S. Highway 1 is one of the most scenic roads in North America. With 43 overseas bridges, including the historic 7-mile bridge, and a total of 113 miles of roadway that extends nearly 90 miles off the mainland ending at mile marker zero in the heart of Key West.

Here are some travel tips and accommodation suggestions to make the most of your stay!

Flight

Flying to Key West

Several major airlines schedule regular service to Key West International Airport (EYW). These include Delta, Silver Airways and American Airlines. Many flights are routed through Miami International Airport (MIA) as well as Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) , but will ultimately land you directly on the island. Local transportation is available - Taxis, Uber & Lyft - to get you around the 2X4 island as parking (especially in 'old town') can sometimes be challenging. Keys Shuttle and Florida Keys Express shuttle do offer group & private door-to-door transportation from both FLL and MIA to Key West. If you choose to drive, the trip down U.S. Highway 1 into Key West can take 3.5-4.0 hours depending on traffic. As this roadway is just 2 lanes most of the way - take your time & enjoy the views!
