We met back in August 2014 during our freshman year of high school, thanks to one of our best friends (thanks, Grace). We hit it off quickly, bonding over our shared sense of humor and an easy, effortless friendship. From that point on, we were pretty much inseparable. By December 2016, after years of “just being best friends,” we went to Winter Ball together and finally admitted what everyone else had already figured out… this was more than just friendship. We made it official, and we haven’t looked back since. Over the next few years, we grew up together, even while living apart. Brookes went off to college, and we did long distance for four years. It wasn’t always easy, but we made it work. Once he moved back, she finished nursing school, he started his career in the wine business, and we moved in together. A year later, we bought our first home! On April 2, 2025, during a girls’ trip to Sonoma on a seemingly ordinary Wednesday, she walked into a winery expecting wine, not a proposal. But there was Brookes, waiting with a ring and a very well-kept secret. She was completely speechless, only able to say, “Why aren’t you at work?” It was a total surprise and the easiest “yes” she’s ever said!!! Now, after over nine years of calling him my boyfriend, I get to call him my fiancé! We appreciate all of your love and support and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you on June 6, 2026!
