We met in high school when Alan was trying to date one of Amanda's best friends (thanks Rachel). Amanda and her friends were hanging out and they decided to call Alan to come hang out with them. He was too busy picking potatoes, but he wasn't about to let that stop him from hanging out with a couple of pretty girls. He ended up coming to hang out with us and at the end of the night Amanda told Alan that he was her new best friend. His response to her was, "what's your name again?" That school year we ended up being in the same math class where the sparks flew while learning about the Pythagorean theorem.
Alan was getting more nervous by the day. Unsure of how to propose, with the ring burning a hole in the closet hiding spot. When Amanda asked to take the dog hiking at one of their favorite spots, Lebanon Hills, Alan knew this was the perfect opportunity. He snuck away to ask his good friend, Hunter, if he wanted to come along. When he said he was busy Alan re-asked, and Hunter knowing Alan had a ring now understood his assignment. Alan asked Amanda for a picture on a small lake. While Amanda was distracted by the dog, Alan got down on one knee. Hunter captured the moment perfectly, getting both pictures and a video. Amanda was surprised that after 9 years Alan FINALLY asked.
