Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

• July 19: The celebration will take place at Hotel Villa Fiordaliso (Address: Via Zanardelli, 132, 25083 Gardone Riviera, BS, Italy). The day will include a Hindu religious ceremony followed by an aperitivo/cocktail hour, dinner, and a party until midnight. • July 20: The festivities will continue at Torre San Marco (Address: Via Zanardelli, 132, 25083 Gardone Riviera, BS, Italy). The evening will feature an aperitivo/cocktail hour, dinner, and a party that will continue until 3:00 AM. ***We will update the starting times in the coming weeks, but both events will begin after 6:00 PM.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

• July 19: Indian attire is recommended but optional. For women, this includes sarees, lehengas, or anarkalis (please no white or ivory). For men, kurtas, sherwanis, or bandhgalas are great options. If you prefer not to wear Indian attire, formal wear is perfectly fine. Keep in mind that the event will be outdoors in a garden by the lake. • For women: Avoid pointy heels, as the garden setting may make them impractical. • For everyone: Light, breathable fabrics are recommended to stay cool and comfortable. • July 20: Formal or cocktail attire is appropriate. Again, light fabrics are ideal for comfort (no white or ivory).

Question

Recommendations for your stay in Italy

Answer

Here are some tips to help you make the most of your stay in Italy: • If Renting a Car: Be mindful of ZTL zones (Zona a Traffico Limitato) in cities and towns. These are restricted traffic areas monitored by cameras, and driving into one without authorization can result in fines. Make sure to ask your rental company about ZTL regulations and parking tips. • Speed Limits: Pay attention to speed limits, as Italy has strict traffic enforcement with speed cameras on highways and local roads. • If Taking the Train: Trains are an excellent way to explore Italy. However, be cautious with your belongings, especially in busy stations or on crowded regional trains. Keep your bags close to you or in sight to avoid theft. • Best Train Options: Italy’s train system is efficient and easy to navigate. For long-distance travel: • Frecciarossa (Trenitalia): High-speed trains with modern amenities, perfect for travel between major cities like Milan, Verona, Venice, and Florence. • Italo: Another high-speed train option, offering comfort and competitive pricing. • Regional Trains: For shorter trips to smaller towns around Lake Garda, regional trains are convenient but less luxurious. Always validate your ticket at the green or yellow machines before boarding regional trains to avoid fines. • Payment methods: Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash for smaller purchases or at local shops and cafes. • Language: While many Italians in tourist areas speak English, learning a few basic Italian phrases can be helpful and appreciated by locals. • Restaurants and Tipping: In most restaurants, a “coperto” or cover charge is included in the bill, so tipping is not mandatory. However, leaving small change or rounding up the bill is common.
