What should I wear?

Answer

Welcome Event: Feel free to wear anything from casual to more fancy. There will likely be a variety of what people wear. The Hall DSM is a beer hall. There will be indoor and outdoor seating reserved. Reception and Ceremony: Please wear any formal American or Indian apparel.

Question

What is the weather like in Iowa in May?

Answer

Iowa weather can be unpredictable! We recommend planning ahead by checking the forecast to West Des Moines, Iowa a couple weeks before. There are times that it's been snowing in May and other times its in the 80s! Tentatively plan for highs in 60s and lows in 40s.

What kind of food will there be?

Answer

During the Welcome Event, there will be a variety of different American/brewery type of food. We will be serving Indian food for the Reception. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be available.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please reach out to us if you have any specific food allergy.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be plenty of parking at The Monroe venue. The ceremony and reception will be at the same location. There will be a shuttle that runs from the hotel we've blocked off, the Hampton Inn.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome to come to either events, but should be accounted for when you RSVP so we are aware.

I would like to wear traditional Indian clothing, where should I buy some?

Answer

There are a variety of online websites that you could buy from. Preferably lehengas for women, sarees or suits okay as well. For men, we recommend a kurta pyjama. Is Indian Apparel Required?

Answer

Indian apparel is not required, feel free to wear what you're most comfortable in! There will be a mix of it all.
