FAQs

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

We appreciate everyone who travelled to be with us, and that is gift enough. We love you all, and thank you! However, we will be setting up a honeymoon fund for those that are compelled to contribute.

Question

When will you be traveling?

Answer

We'll be re-booking as soon as we can confirm a new date. We'll let y'all know as soon as we have flights! We encourage everyone to join us for as long as you are able! We can be found at the swim up bar on all days that are not the day of the ceremony.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the airport?

Answer

The hotel has a shuttle from the Cancun airport. You can select that option when you book your room. It's free!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Nope! Follow your heart! Dresses, linens, lightweight and comfortable; all perfect for this event.

Question

Is Zika still a thing?

Answer

We respect any of our friends concerns about Zika. However, in our research, we've found that it's not a concern. Mexico has the same categorization as the US according to the CDC. We feel confidant that we're not exposing ourselves or our guests to undue risk. We do, however, recommend bug spray and any other measures to prevent mosquito bites. Also because who wants to be itchy on vacation? Since January 2016, Mexican authorities have only found 5 cases of Zika-linked microcephaly from a population of 4,804 pregnant women who tested positive for the virus. None of these births took place in the Yucatan. The lifecycle of the mosquito which carries Zika (Aedes aegypti) runs from late July-early Nov in the Yucatan. We do not expect that mosquito to be abundant during the wedding. Sources (beware gross bug photos): https://www.who.int/emergencies/zika-virus-tmp/en/ https://www.cdc.gov/zika/index.html

Question

Is Mexico dangerous?

Answer

The area of Mexico where we will be is a very common tourist area. While the Department of State lists all of Mexico as "Level 2", which means use caution but there are no travel restrictions, Quintana Roo is particularly safe. As always when traveling abroad, keep your wits about you. But you'll most likely be just fine. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/mexico-travel-advisory.html
