Edwin's friend from high school, Tom, and Amanda's friend from high school, Colleen, dated in college. One night they threw a house party together which included inviting a bunch of their friends to Manayunk. There were a few words exchanged in the house between the Edwin and Amanda. Even when it was time to go to the bar, Mad River, they didn't talk much but Tom, Colleen and Taylor all knew that Amanda was interested in getting to know Edwin. Towards the end of the night, Taylor stepped in and asked Edwin to buy Amanda a tequila shot. They ended up walking back to the house together where Edwin fell asleep on the couch in the middle of a conversation with Amanda. How romantic?!

For people who don't know, Edwin worked extremely hard organizing all of our family and close friends to come to Margate, NJ from different states. Everything was planned including flights, scheduled Airbnb's and catered food which was ordered to celebrate the acceptance of the proposal. The weekend before, Amanda was at one of her best friend's Bachelorette party and ended up coming back with the Coronavirus. Due to the quarantine lasting 5 days and ending on Friday, the plan was to still go down the shore for the weekend at Michelle's beach house. Edwin slept in the living room the whole week hoping not to catch anything. Looking back now..it makes sense as to why he was so cautious. Saturday came around and Edwin started to not feel well and everything was officially called off. Two weeks later, the beach weekend at Michelle's house was rescheduled and everyone enjoyed the day in the sun. Once everyone showered to get ready for a sushi reservation, Michelle recommended to take pictures on the beach since it was something her and Amanda haven't done in a while together. Once it was Edwin and Amanda's turn for a picture, Edwin got down on one knee and popped the question. It was such an intimate and special moment that both of them will never forget in a place where so many of Amanda's young memories started.
