Amanda lived and worked walking distance from the Menil for almost 20 years and enjoyed visiting the Museum and park growing up. This place will always hold a special place in Parker and Amanda's hearts as it was right outside the museum under a large tree that Parker proposed. While you're there be sure to check out the Broken Obelisk and Rothko Chapel, or if you're hungry grab a bite at Bistro Menil.
Hermann Park is full of beautiful walking trails and gardens. It's also right next to the Museum of Natural Science and the Houston Zoo, two of our other favorite places to visit. Miller Outdoor Theater offers free arts performances on the grounds; you can reserve tickets for the seats or bring a picnic and blanket and watch from the lawn.
If you're looking for a family friendly activity, visiting NASA is definitely worth the visit. It's a bit of a drive so be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time before making the trip.
