FAQs

Question

... Ohio?

Answer

Ohio holds a special place in our hearts as well as in our families' history. From childhood days catching lightning bugs and collecting fossils along the creek to the storied Midwestern legacy of Studebaker Automobiles, there is so much about Ohio we are excited to celebrate. We can’t wait to share its beauty—and Grandpa John’s farm—with you all.

Question

Where should we stay to be close to the venue?

Answer

Our recommendation would be Richmond, Indiana, right across the border from the venue! It is approximately 30 minutes from the venue with numerous hotel and Airbnb options. Another great closer option is Greenville, Ohio, which is 15 minutes from the venue. However, there are fewer hotel/Airbnb options, so if you'd like to be within 15 minutes be sure to book early!

Question

Should We Rent A Car?

Answer

Getting a car is highly recommended since the closest airport is about 45 minutes away from the venue. While Ubers may be available, the area is quite rural so rideshares aren’t always guaranteed. There will be plenty of parking on the property, so if you rent a car or share one with a group, there will be more than enough space!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For ceremony day, our celebration is garden formal: dressy but relaxed with a touch of nature’s charm. Think flowing dresses, light suits, and dress shoes that can handle a lawn. Or, just whatever you're most comfortable in! For the bonfire and lake days before and after ceremony day, there is no dress code. But feel free to bring a swimsuit to jump in the lake!

Question

How do we get to the ceremony spot?

Answer

Our ceremony spot will be in a secluded grove just around the lake from where you will arrive and where the reception tent will be. As such, we will have a hay ride for those who need it most or, for the adventurous folk, a beautiful half-mile walking path that takes you to the ceremony.

Question

How long do I stay?

Answer

The events on the 4th and 6th are both optional, but we’d love to see you there! If you’re planning to stay for the whole weekend, we recommend checking out on the 7th so you can relax and enjoy the lake with us on the 6th for Labor Day weekend.
