It all started on a night when neither of us expected anything special. We had no mutual friends, ran in totally different circles, and had completely different hobbies. But somehow, we both ended up at the same art show. Amanda was there to support a friend’s photography book release. Jamal was there helping a friend show off her vintage shirts — and, of course, had his camera with him. Somewhere between good music and too many people, he snapped a picture of Amanda and her friend. She asked how to get the photo, he said he’d send it over Instagram, and just like that, we exchanged socials and went on with our night. But the universe had other plans. A little later, Amanda stepped outside to breathe — her first time out of the house since lockdown, and the crowd was overwhelming. Coincidentally, Jamal was out there too. He started talking to her (even though she was definitely not in the mood for small talk at the time). But against the odds, they ended up having an easy, unexpected conversation. Then they went their separate ways, and Amanda figured that was that. But two months later, they exchanged numbers. And three months after that… they were pretty much inseparable. What started as a random photo at an art show turned into something neither of them saw coming — a love story that just felt right. 🩵
We have decided on a very small vow ceremony with immediate family. We will be having a celebratory party for extended family and friends to meet in the months following the wedding. Details will be posted as they become available! We understand that this might not be traditional but appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you as we bring our families together!
