We were both not the type to go out and meet people, we are both kinda shy and work too much. Around the same time we signed up for match. We started talking about traveling and he'd randomly send me pictures of beautiful places to visit. We talked a month before we finally met. He was late to pick me up for our first date and meeting. I was certain he had cold feet. He assured me it was a muddy encounter at a funeral. When he stepped out of his big black pickup a few hours later I knew it would be a date to remember. We went to a movie theater an hour away and talked the entire ride. We saw Kung Fu Panda 3 and went to eat at a terrible Italian restaurant. The terrible food didn't take away from the engaging conversation we were sharing. At the end of the night I knew it was my last first date and first kiss. Almost two months later we went on more dates, made it official, and the rest is history.
After four years of dating we went on a vacation to Custer, SD. We tried to fit in everything from hiking to Bear Country. On our hike we chose a "moderate" trail that kicked all our butts, especially the dogs. At the peak we read that it was titled Lover's Leap and he said that was perfect for this. He took his grandmother's ring out of his pocket and asked me to marry him. I was out of breath and caught off guard, I stammered everything from ,"are you serious?!" to ,"really?!" And eventually "Yes!!" We kissed and stood up there catching our breath before finishing the last three miles on the trail.
