We met while I was on my last year of college at UT Austin and visiting home in Houston for the weekend. I swiped right, and he swiped right. We began talking over Tinder for days, then exchanged numbers and had long late night conversations. We watched movies and shows together over the phone becoming friends first. Once we met in person, there was immediate chemistry and became an official couple on Memorial Day weekend when I went back home. Although the first 6 months of our relationship were long distance, we constantly visited each other in Houston and Austin creating our first memories. A couple of months later, he said I love you, and I said I love you. He came to my college graduation in December of 2016 and I moved back home to Houston after. This May 30th of 2026 marks 10 years together. We have both changed so much throughout these years but always managed to make it work and stay together while still being irrevocably in love. We’ve had our ups and down and intense moments that defined our relationship. But the love between us was always there. In August of 2024, he proposed with placing the ring on the paws of the first cat we raised together. Our cat was very sick at this time and it meant everything to me using him for the proposal since he was our first baby together. He let me plan the wedding of my dreams while supporting me with what he could through the planning and being patient. It’s hard to believe we are officially married as it hasn’t changed too much in our day to day lives. He is now my husband and I am now his wife, but most importantly, we are each other’s best friend for life. - Amanda
