We found each other through an online dating app on August 26th, 2016. After realizing that we shared many common interests, we set up a first date for brunch at a restaurant called Ida Claire. Soon after we met up for a second date to go country dancing, and then before we knew it we were meeting up with each other as much as possible after work and on weekends. We are forever thankful that the bits and bytes aligned so that we could meet our perfect match!
We started talking about the next step in our relationship over the course of 2017, and James decided that he wanted to propose to Amanda before the end of the year. All unbeknownst to Amanda, James went ring shopping, and picked out a date, location, and schedule for the big day. On a sunny Saturday in December, we went for a 20 mile road bike ride in the morning, ate lunch at Ida Claire's (where we had our first date), and then drove to Celestial Park nearby in Addison. After a short walk, and having positioned Amanda in the ideal position for the waiting photographer to capture the moment, James dropped to one knee, told Amanda that he loved her, and asked her to marry him! To cap it all off, James arranged for both his and Amanda's immediate families to meet and celebrate over dinner that evening.
