How We Met

2011

Dominic's Perspective: Amanda and I met when I was a senior and she was a freshman at Chaparral High School. Amanda had gone to middle school with my little sister Briana, so Amanda knew that Briana had an "older" brother. When Amanda and Briana both decided to join Lauren (Amanda's older sister) and myself in high school, she continued to keep an eye on me. After I graduated high school I still kept in contact with Lauren and The Wille Family due to my friend Tyler Corbin (Lauren's husband now). Tyler and I had played years and years of soccer together and became best friends. As I started to come around more and more hanging out with Tyler, my attraction towards Amanda became more and more. She had always had a boyfriend at the time but I always thought things would work out for me. I finally had the opportunity to jump out in front of her and told her to pick me. I wouldn't leave her alone and always wanted to see her and be around her. We figured that we are going to give this dating thing a try, since she knew I wasn't going to leave her alone until she would say YES. Since then Amanda had always said to me "who would have figured being friends throughout all these years would have turned into gaining a lifetime partner." I couldn't agree more with her, and I feel that I picked the best partner on this planet. Here's to forever and always with my future WIFE!

The Proposal

January 31, 2020

Amanda's Perspective: Short & simple for you guys....Basically right after I had found out I got hired at the hospital with my first nursing job I told Dominic I wanted to take a trip out of town and celebrate before I started my new job! I planned a trip for us to go to Paso Robles to drink my favorite yummy wine and then to Santa Barbara so he could get all the great seafood he wanted. Day 2 of the trip Dominic made dinner reservations for us at a Seafood Restaurant in Santa Barbara that he wanted to go to. Later that evening we went back to the hotel, got ready for dinner and headed out. As we left for dinner, Dominic let me know we are going to watch the sunset at the beach before dinner (which I thought was kinda strange since neither one of us are huge beach people & the fact that he was SOO persistent about needing to get to the beach before the sun went down lol) So in my cute outfit and heels we walk about 1/2 a mile (is what it felt like) to get to the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Once we finally got there we took some pictures and just talked about what we were going to order for dinner lol. I then could tell for maybe half a second that he was acting strange and just a little uptight, but didn't even have any time to think anything of it before I turned my head away for 2 seconds and turned back to Dominic on his knee blurting out, "WILL YOU MARRY ME!?" So fast and so emotional that it was perfect. Of course I cried like a baby & said yes! ** Truthfully had NO idea that I was walking into a proposal weekend that I planned. Lol. Which if you ask Dominic he says it couldn't have been any better because if he would have planned a special trip then I would have FERSURE known something was up. We are just so excited and can't wait to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
