Our love story
Although seeing each other in prior assemblies and pioneer meetings, Amalia and Russell were never formally introduced until Russell's Pioneer Service school ended with a dinner at Pagoda Inn Chinese Restaurant. There, one of the classmates invited Amalia to join and they sat at the same table. Despite meeting each other there, these single pioneers were equally uninterested in starting any relationship so nothing more than dinner was shared at the time.
Amalia's congregation "Eagle Rock SLC" dissolved and was partially absorbed into Russell's congregation "Chatsworth SLC" during the pandemic. Previously, Russell's older brother Aaron was Amalia's field service group overseer, so Chatsworth brothers lovingly placed Amalia in Russell's field service group for easier acclamation. During the weeks and months to follow, Amalia and Russell's Zoom interaction became friendlier and symbiotic for field service activities within the group including providing territory/phone calls and encouraging the group chat on WhatsApp with homemade cooking videos, etc. It wasn't until early 2022 where Amalia and Russell were able to finally interact as friends outside of Zoom.
Beyond their knowledge at the time, Amalia and Russell asked Jehovah specifically for guidance in their lives. Amalia prayed for a mate with a specific check list. Russell prayed for improvement as a congregation elder in the shepherding work.
After more in-person association, Russell realized Amalia was Jehovah's answer to "shepherding improvement" and asked Amalia out. Meanwhile, Amalia realized Russell was Jehovah's answer with her specific checklist developed in her recent prayer. Deciding this to possibly being Jehovah's "arranged marriage" of sorts, Russell and Amalia started to officially date.
The video on this page shows the dating life of 8 months. During that process, many theocratic changes have occurred and tested each other in helpful, enduring ways. From the first day of courting, Amalia and Russell consulted countless "Power Couples" who have served Jehovah married ranging from 2 years to 47 years. Those couples along with Family Worship and keeping Jehovah first-place in their relationship proved to be the strongest guidance that will continue forever into the New World.
