Alyx and James met through mutual friends roughly eight years ago. They were introduced to each other and that was that for a while. No talking, nothing. They slowly started running into each other more at social events, and eventually began to have casual conversations. One year (who knows which one), Alyx was celebrating her birthday, and James happened to be in attendance. One thing led to another, and all of the sudden she's trying to give James a piggy back ride down Platt St. Not a good idea when you have a bad knee. Anyway, since that time, Alyx and James began talking more. Snapchats were exchanged (that's how you know it's serious) and phone conversations ensued. Eventually, they mustered up the courage to go on their first date together in February of 2017 - The Dali Museum in downtown St. Pete. It was a wonderful time, and so effortless. At first, Alyx was hesitant to start a serious relationship, as she was moving a few hours away to start veterinary school. James believed that they could make it work. Though there were trying times and stressful situations (thank you vet school), they maintained a relationship that grew stronger everyday. Fast forward to vacation in Ft. Lauderdale in October 2021 - Alyx had no idea that James planned an elaborate scheme for proposal. Looking back, it seems obvious now, but she was completely oblivious. One morning, they were out on the balcony overlooking the ocean. James pulled out a ring and went through the motions. Happy tears were shed and champagne was popped (it's 5 o'clock somewhere)! Over five years of memories have been made between these two, meaning there are too many stories to tell. Just know this - Alyx and James have loved each other for years and are excited for many more to come.
