One of the bride's first childhood friends from NYC, Phoebe is the closest thing Alyvia has had to a sister. When you choose a Maid of Honor, it is not only important to choose someone who you love, but someone who has always supported you (no matter how ridiculous the idea may be). It's important to choose someone who can turn a terrible day into a night full of giggles. Through all of the ups and downs in their thirty-plus (ahem) year friendship, Phoebe has been right by her side. July 21 should be no different.

Best Man
Both on and off the basketball court, Rich has been remained one of Nate’s closest friends, with a strength of character and uncompromising individuality that has served as both an inspiration and the source of several misadventures for which Rich has become legendary. Nate first met Rich in his youth when he moved to Guilford and though born of different parents, his constant presence in the Pollard household has earned him a spot as one of the unofficial Pollard children.
Nichole Potzauf
Matron of Honor
It's hard to go from seeing each other every day, to living on opposite ends of the country, but only best friends can live apart for 16 years and never skip a beat. Even though their lives have gotten busier, Nichole and Alyvia have always made time for each other. They've hopped on planes to stand beside one another through the best and worst, and spent hours on FaceTime talking flower arrangements and centerpieces. They've turned family holidays into three amigo best friend traditions. This 21-year friendship is forever.

This beauty stole our hearts the day she was born. Watching her grow up has been both amazing and tough living so far away, but we always save room for a weekly FaceTime.

Cydnee and Alyvia met freshman year at Florida State University. Years of family holidays spent at the Wellburns turned into new traditions with the Rafferty clan. Alyvia was honored to stand beside her best friend as MOH at Cydnee's wedding 7 years ago. Patiently waiting to return the MOH favor to our bride, Cydnee couldn't be a more perfect fit to stand beside her on this very special day.

The smile says it all. This little treasure is a heartbreaker. When she learned she was going to be a flower girl, she excitedly said she wanted to have her face painted like a tiger. With a face like that, we almost changed our wedding colors.

Like most good things, Kiri and Nathan’s friendship seemed almost preordained, with a soundtrack that encompasses both the light, airy harmonies of laughter and the heavy guitars of nights spent hungrily devouring the New York City nightlife. Since their first introduction dancing and singing in his living room, their friendship has both grown and changed over a decade of life’s milestones and has come to define many of Nate’s fondest memories. One of two besties, Nate officiated her marriage to our officiant, Rafael Cubela.

If Alyvia had to phone a friend for trivia night, Karla would be her one call. A perfect balance of wit and sarcasm, Karla is one of the three amigo besties. Karla and Alyvia share a great love for travel, food, and each other. Together, they have traveled the world and paved the way to a life-long sisterhood.

Mike is Nate's oldest friend, having grown up with Nate in New Haven before his move to Guilford. He is family and has been treated as such for almost 30 years, during which time both have stayed close through good times and tragedy. Kind and generous, Mike shares countless memories with Nate and has proven to be one of the most formative relationships in Nate's life.

The dynamic duo formed in high school when Tiffany and Alyvia spun their flare for the dramatics into an unstoppable musical thespian team. From critics choice to karaoke, when these two get together they pump up the volume, literally–have you heard them laugh?

Nate and Jackson first met while briefly working at a small Connecticut newspaper and their lasting friendship remains the most valuable aspect of that experience. Kindred spirits with a similar biting sense of humor and a love of life's oddities, the duo began as creative partners but over the years have formed an unspoken kinship that has led to Jackson becoming one of Nate's most trusted friends.

The second of two besties, Stefanie and Nathan have remained loving friends since their first meeting in New York over a decade ago and have survived many musical adventures together. Most famously, Stefanie was the one to cut off Nathan’s dreadlocks as he transitioned from hipster rasta to afropunk contrarian, storing the leftover hair in a freezer in what has since been dubbed “freezergate”. Compassionate beyond words, Stef’s boundless talent is surpassed only by the warmth of her heart and spirit. Nathan loves and likes her. He also officiated her marriage to Elizabeth Peeples.

A college friend and former roommate, Avir shares Nate's love for the ridiculous, which the two have actively fostered through their past radio show and in their everyday interactions. The two bonded over a love of music and arts, and have collaborated creatively over the years, remaining close friends along the way.

A smile and personality that lights up the room, Ebony is the life of the party. Alyvia and Nathan are so lucky to have her back in NY–and only a short walk away. From surprising the couple with a bottle of bubbly, to cooking up a delicious brunch, Ebony has been instrumental in diverting any wedding tension to their stomach–where it should live. This fun, passionate woman is so much more than a bridesmaid, she's Alyvia's soon-to-be sister-in-law!

Nick and Nate are cousins but have a friendship beyond blood, having guided each other countless times through life’s obstacles and challenges. They both share a similar view of the world and enjoy spirited conversations, which has led to plenty of debates at the Pollard dinner table. Nick is a steady, moderating force and a necessary addition to Nate's groomsmen.

Since Sandy and Alyvia met in NY over 10 years ago, their friendship has moved with them both to Miami, and back again to NYC. Their shared love of music has taken them to festivals and kept them up all night dancing. Alyvia was lucky to be MOH at Sandy's wedding 2 years ago. One of the biggest hearts in the world, this wedding party would be incomplete without Sandy.
Noah Roberts-Yule

A friend from his home town of Guilford, Noah and Nate’s friendship is defined by philosophical conversations, love of weird anime, and joke deliveries so dry that they turn thriving rain forests into arid plains of sand and dust. Beyond his flawless re-enactments of fight scenes from Terminator 2 (T2), Noah also has a determination and positivity that is always reassuring and welcome.

Friends since college, Alyvia and Nasya went from living blocks from each other in Williamsburg (back when it was still gritty) to living together on the UWS, When Nasya got married 9 years ago, Alyvia was one of her bridesmaids.Their personal lives also became professional when they started working in advertising. Through all of life's ups and downs, Nasya has always been that special someone who shows up, no question, when a friend is needed most.

Ralphie's basically been Alyvia's person since high school. It all began at a theater competition when he introduced himself to Alyvia and Tiffany (see bridesmaids). Their friendship was instantaneous. They share a love for inappropriate humor, music, travel, and dancing till dawn. Their friendship has followed them from Miami, to Tallahassee and NYC. They've traveled all over the world just to make sure neither missed a birthday. When he met his wife, they attempted to match Alyvia up with her best friend. This matchmaking went on for close to a year, but we'll save that story for the homepage. Rafael has had everything to do with Liv & Nate's beginning, so choosing an officiant was no contest. There is no better person to unify them as they begin the next chapter in their love story.
