I introduced myself to a very shy Tyler in 2002, when his family made their move to the Outer Banks, NC. He looked at me like a deer in headlights, probably because I am, and have always been, a bit over the top (#SorryImNotSorry). Our actual friendship began late in our high school career, but once we became friends I was hooked! I always looked forward to meeting up at his house for a nice, competitive game of ping pong. We went our seperate ways in college- Tyler moved to Greenville, and I moved Raleigh. That didn't keep us apart. Tyler was always the first person I called when I went home to the Outer Banks, and he always made time for me, whether it was just meeting up for coffee, a quick lunch, or a trip to a local putt putt. Sometimes I convinced him to join my family for holiday outings (ask me about a super cute video my niece took circa 2015). Sweet Tyler asked me to date him at one point, but I said no (whoops!) for many reasons, but the most important being that we would be long distance and I definitely didn't want to ruin the amazing friendship we had. Over the next couple years, I couldn't stop thinking about that and finally one day I finally came to my senses and knew Tyler was the one for me. We went to lunch during one of my OBX visits, and mid-conversation I said "well, you should just date me (hair flip)", to which Tyler laughed in my face. After Tyler realized I wasn't laughing he said "Oh, you weren't joking?" I said "Well, I wasn't but..." and then we more or less changed the subject. I was so embarrassed!! It only took a couple days for my comment to sink in before Tyler said "Yeah, let's try this out." And now, here we are. Finally getting married after all these years. Tyler and I are the best of friends, and we hardly share a dull moment. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together, and can't wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family <3
