Like most people these days we met online in November of 2019, after meeting in person and realizing that we work literally next door to each other, there was a connection that we both couldn't deny. While our relationship has not been ordinary it is our story and we both wouldn't change a thing. Shortly after we started dating COVID hit and changed the entire landscape of the dating scene, there were no more going out to restaurants or to movies for a date. We had to be inventive and flexible with how and where we met, one of our \ favourite date nights was staying in and trying all of our local pizzerias ranking them from most to least favourite! A few months into our relationship Will was given an amazing opportunity to go and work up north in the Arctic for 7 months, while this would challenge our relationship being long ​distance for a little while, we knew that it would bring us closer together when we made it through. We celebrated all of our "firsts" apart, our first anniversary, Christmas, birthdays you name it (thank god for Facebook video chats). When he came back in the spring, we knew that we would be able to handle anything life threw at us and we were meant to be together. The next few months and into summer was all about enjoying all of the things that we had missed and just spending time together. Like most summers they flew by bringing us into fall, where we were finally able to book our first trip together. We were going to Vancouver to visit Alyssa's very best friend Ashley, but Will had a hidden agenda for this trip that would change things forever. In the last half of our trip in Nanaimo BC at Jack Point Park Will got down on one knee and proposed, we are both so excited to start this next chapter in our lives and can't wait to have you all there to celebrate our love with us in September!
