We met in a garage through mutual friends — very glamorous, I know. I actually made the first move and asked Tom out on our first date to Rich Farms for ice cream. The rest is kind of history… once Tom finally asked me out two months later. (Patience is a virtue, right?) As it turns out, the world is incredibly small. Tom’s grandpa (also Tom) is best friends with my grandma’s husband. And if that wasn’t enough, my stepdad was close with Tom’s dad (also Tom) and his mom back in high school. Basically, it seems like we were destined to meet — and destined to have a lot of Toms at family gatherings. I met Tom my freshman year of college, and from that moment on he signed up for a whirlwind: major changes (mine), internships, student teaching, late-night study sessions, and big life decisions. In the midst of all that change and growth, Tom and his dad stepped into a new chapter themselves by taking over the family business. After I graduated, Tom bought a house, and we spent countless nights there covered in paint, learning how to renovate room by room, building not just a home but a life together. Seven years, a lot of ice cream, renovations, and memories later — Tom got down on one knee. And the rest? That’s our forever. 🤍
Tom and I had been dating for seven years at this point and every year for the past six years we have gone to Flemmings Steakhouse for Valentines Day with my brother and his wife and another couple. This is no regular restuarnt, we dress nice and have a fabulous time. February 15th, 2025 Tom proposed at the Saville Dam in Barkhamsted, CT! This was a planned out event between Tom and Kevin. Kevin "wanted to take pictures of his truck in the snow" so we left Naugatuck and went to Barkhamsted to go to West Hartford (makes sense). The night before Tom told me he would not be working Saturday (the 15th) and I automatically got suspicious because he loves to work. When we were on the way there he kept asking to take a picture at the dam. Our proposal was perfect in the snow!
