Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Alyssa Overcash and Nathan McGill
Here are a few locations we would recommend our guests to check out here in Idaho. These locations are an important part of Idaho, each location has meaning for us. We strongly advise our guests to arrive a day or two earlier or later to check out these excellent staple locations in Idaho!
Downtown

Downtown

Boise, ID

We have some excellent food and drink spots to share if you head downtown to the bustling streets of Downtown, Boise. These include Suite 104, Wildroot, Western Proper, Tupelo Honey, Fork, Bacon, Barbacoa, Juniper, and The Vibe. Freak alley is not a restaurant, however, it's a must-see when downtown; most of these locations and must-sees are found on 8th street. Another wonderful area is anywhere on the green belt.

Idaho State Capitol

Idaho State Capitol

700 West Jefferson Street, Boise, ID 83702

The Idaho State Capital is a must-see here in the Potato State. The Capital is covered in beautiful white granite with beautiful flowers and sights from outside. It is full of the state's long history and origination.

Idaho Botanical Garden

Idaho Botanical Garden

2355 N Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, ID 83712

This amazing location is filled with some of Idaho's most famous florals. A wonderful outing for the family as this location's mission is to cultivate, educate, and celebrate the beauty within these community-grown botanicals.

Zoo Boise

Zoo Boise

355 Julia Davis Drive, Boise, ID 83702

The Boise Zoo is a fantastic option for the whole family. Go check out the cute animals and learn about the native species within the potato state.

Old Idaho Penitentiary Site

Old Idaho Penitentiary Site

2445 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, ID 83712

This old state penitentiary is a great place for history enthusiasts; learning about our country's first and oldest state prisons is quite interesting. Gain knowledge about Idaho's most famous criminals and get a front seat to the institution lock-up areas, female holding, and even...if brave... the gallows, where prisoners were put to death.

Downton Caldwell

Downton Caldwell

Caldwell, ID

Caldwell is an old, historic, and western town. It is full of wonderful restaurants, gift shops, and antique stores, and overall, a great place to shop and walk. One can easily spend a day or cool afternoon checking in each of the shops.

Boise Foothills

Boise Foothills

E, 1465 Shenandoah Dr,, Boise, ID 83712

The Foothills, sitting above the city of Boise, Idaho. A must-see for its beauty and landscape. A staple when visiting the great state of Idaho. Also, the unique location of our engagement photos.

The Village at Meridian

The Village at Meridian

3597 East Monarch Sky Lane, Meridian, ID 83646

The Village is a wonderful place to get some shopping in, grab a glass of wine, and check out the water feature. It is similar to the Bridgeport Village in Oregon.

Lucky Peak

Lucky Peak

ID 83712

A frequent spot that we both would go to during our first summer in Idaho. Wonderful views and a scenic drive for some fresh air. This reservoir is about ten minutes outside of Boise and offers water recreation during the hot months.

Lake Lowell

Lake Lowell

ID

A stunning lake located right in Nampa Idaho. Offers scenic views, water recreation in the warm months, and a great place to throw a line in.

Swan Falls Dam

Swan Falls Dam

Murphy, ID 83650

Swan Falls is a concrete dam built on the snake river. Comes with magnificent views and a great location for bird watching. Similar to Lake Billy Chinook in Culver, OR.

McCall

McCall

McCall, ID 83638

Located about two hours outside of Boise. A great mini-road trip. Offers several local boutiques, great restaurants, lake views, and a lovely small-town feel. This is the location that we became engaged and began this journey of marriage.
