We met back in 8th grade when our small Catholic schools in STL merged! Matt was in 8B while Alyssa was in 8A, but they still managed to make a connection. We stayed friends all through high school, even after going to different schools. We finally started dating senior year in 2016! We both ended up at the University of Arkansas and had the best college experiences we could have asked for. After one year of long distance — while Matt finished his Master's in Accounting at Arkansas and Alyssa began her career in Fashion Merchandising back in STL at Soft Surroundings — we packed everything up and moved to New York City to build a new, fast-paced life together. Nearly 10 years of laughs, love, and partnership!

On June 15th, 2025, on a cloudy Sunday evening, Matt talked Alyssa into going to Central Park. We walked over to the water's edge by Ladies' Pavilion, a beautiful scenic landmark in the park. He got down on one knee and asked Alyssa to be his wife — and she said YES! Afterward, we snuck in a rowboat ride on the pond just before the rain rolled in. We then headed to Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn for an unforgettable dinner!
