It's no secret that Mason and I have been in each other's lives for over a decade. Mason planned the perfect proposal and gets major points for having me completely fooled (I'm not easy to surprise). I was convinced it was Mason's grandma's 75th birthday and she was wanting us to take nice pictures since we'd all be together. I was told to be at Mason's house at 7 PM, but got a call while getting ready that I needed to show up earlier. In my rush to get ready and drive to Devine, I was oblivious to all the little things going on around me. When I got to Devine, I quickly finished my makeup and chated with Abbie. As we were heading out the door, Mr. Capps rushed by asking if Mason and I would go turn off the well. We'd done it before so I thought nothing of it. I realized something was off when he asked me the same question three times while driving on the golf cart. We drove up to a row of Christmas trees and in front of me was a path of canvases that captured our major milestones. As we slowly walked down the path Mason and I talked and laughed at all the funny memories we'd made: first football game in middle school, high school dates, proms, high school and college graduations, and first jobs. The final picture of us said "last Christmas without a ring". Then we walked under an oak tree where flowers and a small box were sitting. Mason shared more sweet words with me before getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Of course, I said YES! Like clockwork, my mom, Mason's parents, and Abbie came running out from behind the trees to congratulate us. As if the proposal wasn't enough, he had a surprise engagement party with all of our close family and friends. We both felt so incredibly loved and celebrated. We're so blessed to have so many that have contributed to the love we've grown and continue to grow.
