Marcus and I met through a mutual friend of ours. I needed a place to stay for a few days so I called up a friend to ask if I could crash on his couch. The morning rolled around and my friend left for work, leaving me alone with his roommate. When I noticed him up and about, I didn't want to make him uncomfortable so I decided the best thing to do was to break the ice and say hello. Like they say, the rest is history! We spent the whole day on that same couch enjoying each others thoughts and ideas. Everything about that day was perfect and memorable.
My family reunion was being held in Arizona and we decided to make a road trip out of it. We planned a few of our own activities for the trip as well, one of which was visiting The Grand Canyon. Once we got there we took a moment to digest how magnificent the view really was. Then we decided we'd find a better place to take a picture were we weren't so close to the edge. Marcus led me to a nice spot away from most of the crowd, where there was a few older ladies nearby. He asked if one of them wouldn't mind getting a picture of us, they were happy to help. I can remember watching him hand her his phone and then looking at the immense canyon in awe. when I looked back to take the picture I saw the man of my dreams on one knee, then said "Alyssa Angel Elizondo, I've been in love with you since the first day I met you. Will you marry me?" I was more than happy and of course I said YES!! We are looking forward to the beginning of the rest of our life together. We're so excited to celebrate this chapter of our life with you. See you in Strasburg!
