Lucas and Alyssa met their junior year of high school through a mutual friend. Lucas messaged Alyssa over Facebook saying “Hey, what’s up?” And the rest was history... Our high school days were exciting, going to each other’s various activities like swim, drama, and golf, going to dances, and being homecoming king and queen our senior year! When we chose our colleges, Alyssa decided to pursue music therapy at Seattle Pacific University, while Lucas chose to major in Business Administration and minor in music at Western Washington University in Bellingham. We realized that being long-distance wouldn’t be easy, but even at the young age of 18 we were ready to take on the challenge! Four years later, we both graduated with our degrees and looked towards the future! We were both accepted into the Disney College Program and originally planned on moving to Florida, but, of course, COVID-19 changed our plans. Lucas entered the administrative side of construction, beginning an internship, while Alyssa worked at a golf course over the Summer and got accepted into a music therapy internship in San Diego. On December 24, 2020, Lucas proposed on a sunny day at the Olympia Waterfront!! Alyssa gave an enthusiastic “YES!”, before we left to celebrate with family. It was the happiest day of our lives thus far, and we have loved being engaged. We are both living in San Diego as Alyssa recently finished her music therapy internship with Seasons Hospice, and Lucas is working for BNBuilders. We are loving sunny California and can't wait to share our special day with our loved ones in La Jolla! Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, coming August 2022 :)
