Our Love Story...

Landon and I have went to the same church ever since we were born. When I was in high school, we tried talking, but it didn't really go anywhere other than us becoming best friends. In my first year of college, we tried talking/dating again, but it still wasn't the right time and we left things at friends. However (this is where things get good), in April 2018, a big group of friends were supposed to go to the zoo one Saturday. However, at the last minute, everyone backed out leaving Landon and I the only ones going. This day turned out to be one of best days and rekindled everything that we had try to follow previously. We spent the morning at the zoo, and then spent the rest of the day shopping and eating (two of our favorite past times!) That Saturday night I went home and could not stop thinking about how much fun we had and how I wished dating were still an option for us. My absolute best friend (might as well be my sister) and now maid of honor started texting a mutual friend of mine and Landon's asking if Landon's feelings were the same. She did this without telling me, but after she had gotten the information she needed, she let me know what she did and was able to tell me that Landon still had feelings for me, as well. I was so happy to hear this and could not wait until I got to see him again. Thankfully, the next Sunday night (the day after the zoo), me, him and a few other friends from church went out to eat at a local restaurant. When leaving, he was kind of staying back from the group, and I wanted to talk to him so I stayed with him. He then asked me if I would like to go out...again...sometime. I said yes with possibly a goofy smile on my face (thankfully that didn’t turn him away). We became official on May 5, 2018 and got engaged on January 7, 2019!! Now, I cannot wait until October 12th gets here!! <3

The Proposal

January 7, 2019

One day, Landon and I decided to take a walk to the land that we are going to build our house on. Our land is in a beautiful spot with a beautiful view and also has a creek. After we had finished looking and planning where we were going to put our house, Landon wanted to go down to the creek. Once we got down there, we were in an area with a lot of weeds and it was really hard to tell anything about the area. However, Landon pointed to something farther up the creek and asked, "What is that?" It was a prayer altar that my brother had made and I got super excited and said, "Oh yeah! I want to show you that!" We then walked to the area and I told him all about it and then kept talking about who knows what afterwards. Little did I know Landon was not listening to a word I was saying, as he was trying to figure out how to propose! <3 Once I finally took a breath, he said look at this view, and I turned around and it truly was a beautiful view! He then turned me back around and gave me a hug. While hugging, he said, “Check this out!” I then pulled away and he was holding the ring in his hand. I was completely shocked and couldn’t even really speak. He then got down on one knee and told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!!💕
