It was back in 2021, just before Alyssa's 21st birthday. Alyssa and her friends were celebrating at a bar in Newtown after enjoying an intoxicated paint-and-sip session. Too many drinks in, she had handed her phone to some friends who began swiping her Bumble for her. The next morning, while everyone was still asleep, she saw Lachlan's profile, stating he loves history. Still somewhat drunk, she texts him, "Tell me your favourite history fact." To which he replied, "Everything in modern society can be traced back to a single dude in Europe." (Philosophical, right?). The conversation hit off, and Alyssa and Lachlan began speaking about their shared career in communications. Or so she thought... She worked in communications marketing. He left out the details about being a radio operator for the defence force. Despite living 30 km away (when he only had his Bumble radius set to 5km), they quickly hit it off and spent their first date exploring Kiama and Wollongong. The rest, as we all know, is history.
