Baltimore, known as "Charm City", is one of our favorite places because it is where we met! There are so many fun things to do and places to go. Baltimore gets a bad rap, but there really are charming hidden gems all throughout this culturally rich, historic city. See below for our favorite places and if you need any other recommendations, please let us know! We'd love to discuss and show you how great this city really is!
We loved going to Orioles games when we attended Loyola. One of our Economics professors worked for the Orioles and gave us free tickets to attend this game our senior year (picture above!). This photo was taken outside of Pickles, the best bar for Oriole pregames. From May 31st - June 2 the Orioles have a series with the Tampa Bay Rays. Click the link for tickets!
Baltimore has one of the best aquariums on the East Coast. Alyssa regrettably has never gone even though 90% of Loyola students have been there at least once-- including Josh. Please let us know if you make it to the aquarium so Alyssa can feel guilty about never attending!
R House is an industrial-chic food hall with roll-up garage doors & 10 chef-driven counters. Highly recommend going to "Amano Taco" and building your own bowl. The best way we can describe it is gourmet Chipotle. The other best option is "Hilo" and building your own poke bowl. This is the best poke bowl we've ever had, and that includes any poke that we've eaten in NYC. This place is especially fun at night with a large bar in the center and shuffleboard!
For all our American history buffs, if you'd like to see a National Monument where the Americans successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from British troops in the War of 1812, please see Fort McHenry! Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the "Star Spangled Banner" as a result of the Battle of Baltimore.
