Welcome, beloved guest

Alyssa and I met at the tail end of a cruise to Alaska in 2018. I was there to celebrate my dad's anniversary, and Alyssa was there with her best friend, Katie. It took nearly the entire trip for us to connect, but on the second to last day, we had an all-night party with the friends we had made on the cruise and spent the night dancing, playing games, and running around the ship. The whole time, I couldn't keep my eyes off her - I was obsessed, and she seemed just as interested in me, but she played it cool all night! The next morning, Alyssa found me as I sat to have some breakfast and watch a movie on the big screen deck. We sat and chatted all morning before parting for the last day's activities on the ship. After dinner, we all went to the back of the ship to see sunset and Alyssa and I had our first kiss - a true romance at first sight. Since we met, Alyssa and I have lived in two cities together; 5 years in Arcata, home of the Redwood forests and Alyssa's alma mater, Cal Poly Humboldt; and almost 2 years now in Campbell, where we moved for better opportunities for work. Every year, we make a point to attend a festival in Humboldt. Dancing to music with our friends in the middle of the redwoods is our favorite pastime, and we're excited to share a small taste of that with you today! Thank you for joining us.
