Timeline of Us

May 19, 2019: John and Alyssa connected through the dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. Alyssa spent 300 “coffee beans” to connect with John! A day later, John connected back!

June 5, 2019: John and Alyssa went on their first date at Taqueria Tsunami on John’s drive to move to DC. Keira also came! They were supposed to meet earlier by themselves, but the time zone changed!

The infamous trip to MI! After talking on the phone for a month (still only 1 date in), John invited Alyssa to MI to stay with his family for 4th of July! A bit bold, but this was the start of A&J!

July 13, 2019: Fair is fair! Alyssa invited John to meet her family in NY while she and Keira were visiting. John drove 10 hours though DC and NY traffic to get there!

August 17, 2019: John got to meet Alyssa’s family for Andrew and Lauren’s (Alyssa’s brother and sister-in-law) engagement in FORT LAUDERDALE! We always said we wanted to go back!

September 7, 2019: Our first trip to Disney World together!

October 13, 2019: Charlotte, NC. Our first “datecation” with Keira!

November 9, 2019: USMC Birthday Ball in Washington, DC. John and Alyssa’s 1st USMC event together! Alyssa likes to think of John as her Prince Charming because he took her to her first ball!

November 30, 2019: Keira’s first trip to MI to meet John’s family!

December 25, 2019: John and Alyssa’s first Christmas together in MI.

January 7, 2020: Alyssa and Keira visited John in DC for his 40th birthday! They got to spend time with his sister, Stephanie, too! This trip is when John and Alyssa first said “I love you.”

January 25, 2020: John visited Alyssa and Keira in GA for Keira’s 5th birthday

February 14, 2020: John and Alyssa’s first Valentine’s Day together! They went to a concert in DC together with friends

February 29, 2020: Alyssa visits John’s family in Michigan for his grandmother’s 95th birthday!

March 14, 2020: John and Alyssa met in Meadows of Dan, VA and enjoyed massages at Primland Spa! This was the last weekend before the pandemic changed everything!

March 21, 2020: Alyssa and Keira’s first trip to DC during the pandemic! Alyssa and Keira DROVE all the way there and back to see John!

July 18, 2020: Alyssa and John visit Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello! So very fascinating!

August 17, 2020: John came down to GA for Keira’s first day of virtual Kindergarten!

September 6, 2020: Alyssa and Keira visit John’s family and the corvettes in Michigan for Labor Day weekend

October 11, 2020: Alyssa and John visit the Outer Banks together and enjoy some Duck Donuts!

December 25, 2020: John and Alyssa’s second Christmas together! This time in GA with Keira!

January 23, 2021: John came down to GA for Keira’s 6th birthday party at Sparkles Roller Rink!

February 14, 2021: Celebrating our second Valentine’s Day together in Colonial Williamsburg

March 2, 2021: John came down to GA to help Alyssa recover from her melanoma surgery. Alyssa is still cancer free!

April 5, 2021: Alyssa and Keira visit John for Spring Break. John surprises them at the airport with a Camaro!! John has since upgraded to another Camaro!

May 9, 2021: John visits GA for Mother’s Day. John, Alyssa, Keira, and Alyssa’s mom, Denise, go to North Ga Wildlife Park to celebrate. We got to hold some pretty cute baby animals!

May 31, 2021: John PROPOSES!!! With both our families present and Keira very much in on the secret, John proposed on the bridge between the UK and France in Epcot in Disney World!!

July 4, 2021: “Datecation” in Atlantic City for 4th of July! We went to see an awesome Motown show!

July 15, 2021: Visiting John one more time before the start of school! Just a “dolphin” and her “trainer!” They have become such great friends.

August 13, 2021: John and Alyssa were invited to the Sunset Parade at 8th and I Marine Barracks in DC. The parade was cancelled due to weather, but they still had a fun time with the Marines!
